Beautiful, handcrafted Capiz shell wind chimes. Beautiful Carribean aqua and blue colors that hang from a bronze finished metal “x” frame.  They sparkle in the light, and when placed outside, they create a gentle tinkling sound. Measuring 12" wide x 24" length.

These Capiz shells come from a fishing village in Java, where the shell artisans sustainably harvest the shells and shape them. All parts of the Capiz (jingle oysters) are used; the meat is used for food, the main part of the shell for artisan crafting and the shell waste for fertilizer. Only full-grown shells are harvested from the kelp beds, which provides more space and food source for the young ones to grow.
